Robins move for experienced striker

Northampton have allowed Leon Constantine to join League One rivals Cheltenham on a month-long loan deal. The much-travelled striker only joined the Cobblers last summer but has endured a torrid season in front of goal, finding the target on just three occasions. With Northampton boss Stuart Gray set to welcome top scorer Adebayo Akinfenwa back from a four-game suspension this weekend, and having signed Aleksandar Prijovic on loan from Derby, it has been decided Constantine would be best served looking for regular action elsewhere. Gray said: "I think a change of scene could do Leon good. "We have Bayo coming back and we took a striker in on loan this week so this move will give Leon the chance to play first team football and help Cheltenham out. "It will also give me the chance to try and add to our own squad by bringing in a fresh face and we obviously wish Leon well at Whaddon Road." Constantine joins a Cheltenham outfit battling for their lives at the wrong end of the third tier table. Martin Allen's side sit 10 points adrift of safety with 10 games of their 2008/09 campaign remaining.
