Striker's future up in the air

Collins John has returned to Fulham after having his loan spell at NEC Nijmegen cut short. The 23-year-old has failed to impress at NEC since arriving on loan at the start of the season. NEC had the option to turn his loan move into a permanent deal, but the Dutch club have shelved their interest in John and sent him back to Craven Cottage. "Neither Collins nor the club have succeeded in making him an important player for the whole season," said NEC technical director Carlos Aalbers. "Collins has not played and there are no prospects for him until the end of the season, so it was better to be adults and sit down together to find a good solution for both parties."

Uncertain

John, who failed to score for NEC, admits his long-term future is now up in the air. "I am disappointed in this season where I have hardly played," John told the club's official website. "Unfortunately, I had but a few important moments for NEC. "Where my career will next lead me to is not yet clear. In the coming weeks I will look at the potential opportunities."
