Accrington Stanley have turned down a bid for Andy Procter, who has been a target for Rochdale.
Procter has spent his career with Accrington, but the midfielder has been attracting interest from other clubs in League Two.
Local rivals Rochdale had shown an interest, while an unnamed club had also tested the water with an offer.
However, Stanley assistant manager Jimmy Bell has revealed the club want significantly more than has been offered.
"Rochdale's interest has cooled," Bell told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
"We've had another club showing interest, but their valuation is a long way short of ours. We would want a lot more than what they offered."
