United youngster seeks first-team experience at Edgar Street

Manchester United youngster Sam Hewson has joined Hereford on a three-month loan deal. The 20-year-old is a talented midfielder with an eye for goal and Bulls boss Graham Turner will be hoping to utilise his creative abilities over the coming weeks. Hewson has been a regular at academy and reserve level for United over the last few years and was awarded a first-team squad number this season. However, despite being held in high regard at one of the world's biggest clubs, he is under no illusions as to just how tough a task he faces if he is to force his way into contention at Edgar Street. "First of all I've got to fight for my place, hopefully show what I can do and if the manager thinks I'm good enough he'll put me in the team," Hewson told the club's official website. Meanwhile, Josh Gowling and Andy Williams have extended their loan deals with the Bulls. Gowling's move from Carlisle will last for a further month, while Bristol Rovers will allow Williams to remain with their League One rivals until the end of the season. Elsewhere, Moses Ashikodi has returned to Watford after his short-term deal came to an end.
