Lee McEvilly's loan stay at Rochdale has been made into a permanent deal after the striker signed on a free transfer from Cambridge.
The 26-year-old has agreed a 18-month contract at Spotland having impressed with two goals in two games since joining on loan for a second spell with the club.
"It is good news for the club and great news for Lee himself," manager Keith Hill told the club's official website.
"We know that there is a lot of improvement to be had in his game but both parties are working hard every day on that and he can be a real asset to us in the weeks and months to come.
"We are really pleased to have him here."
