Ternent reveals attempt to land former Dagenham man

Huddersfield Town manager Stan Ternent has revealed that he failed in an attempt to sign winger Dominic Green. The former Dagenham & Redbridge player was a target of Ternent in the summer transfer window, but the 19-year-old instead opted to join League One rivals Peterborough United. And Galpharm Stadium boss Ternent has now stated that Green agreed to join Huddersfield before Peterborough made their move. "I did try to sign a player on the wing, who had agreed to come, but he then went to Peterborough instead," Ternent told skysports.com. Although Ternent refused to name the player involved, Peterborough's director of football Barry Fry has confirmed it was Green. "Yes, it was the boy from Dagenham, Dominic Green," added Fry. "He was in talks with them (Huddersfield) before we swooped in to bring him here." The Terriers extended the loan of Liam Dickinson from Derby for a further month on Monday and Ternent also revealed that there is an added clause for the extension. "I've extended Liam's stay with us because I feel he has done well for us, but it does have a 24-hour recall on it in case Derby want him back," Ternent concluded.
