Shots defender leaves injury woes in the past

Junior Osborne hopes his injury problems are behind him as he looks towards a successful future at Aldershot. The 20-year-old full-back recently signed a short-term contract with the League Two new-boys, having impressed during a trial period at the club. He finds himself at the Recreation Ground having been released by Watford over the summer. His time at Vicarage Road was blighted by frustrating spells on the sidelines, but the youngster is keen to leave those troubles in the past as he embarks on a new chapter in his career.

Big opportunity

"I have been at the club for about a month and the main focus is to show that I am fit because I did suffer with a cruciate ligament injury but I feel that I am over that now," Osborne told the Shots' official website. "I am happy to be at Aldershot as it is a good club with some good players here. It is different for me really as I was at Watford from a 13 year old onwards. We have youth and pace in this squad which is my game really because I like to get up and down the flank. There is youth at the club but it is a confident youth which is important. "League football is a big opportunity for a lot of players. There is a lot of competition throughout the league and you have to be consistent and keep your performance levels up. Coming up from the Conference means that the club is at a new level and many teams have written us off. "However we have to prove what we are capable of doing and keep producing the performances and we will try to aim for as high a spot as possible."
