Defender training with former club Ipswich

Jamie Clapham is hoping to catch the eye of a club after linking up with Ipswich for pre-season training. Clapham plied his trade at Portman Road between 1998 and 2003 before moving on to Birmingham. He had further spells at Wolves, Leeds and Leicester, but was released by the Foxes at the end of last season. The defender had a trial at Southend last month but was recently invited back to Ipswich by manager Jim Magilton. Clapham is now optimistic that he will attract some interest so he can get his future sorted as quickly as possible. "I have been with Ipswich for a week and I am really enjoying it," Clapham told the Evening Star. "Hopefully I can come to the notice of a club and get fixed up for the season."
