Striker set to feature in games this week

Delroy Facey is back in training with Gillingham after failing to reach a settlement to leave the League Two side. The striker was transfer listed at Priestfield after falling out of favour with manager Mark Stimson. He held talks with chairman Paul Scally over a departure last week but an agreement could not be reached. Instead the 28-year-old is back in training and is now due to play in a couple of pre-season games this week. Stimson said: "Delroy Facey has been speaking to the chairman but they haven't reached an agreement for a settlement.

Compete

"Del will come back into the building on Monday and he will compete for a place up front. He is obviously a couple of weeks behind the other players as he hasn't been training. "We have some games this week; we play Ipswich at home on Wednesday, Birmingham at home on Saturday and we're sending a team to Folkestone on Saturday. "We also have a training game this week so there are a couple of games in which he will play." Meanwhile, Stimson has decided not to offer contracts to trialists Leo Roget, Nigel Atangana and Alex Bailey but a fourth player, winger Alistair John, has had his trial period extended.
