Silkmen youngster commits to club

Macclesfield Town's promising midfielder Izak Reid has signed a fresh one-year contract with the club. The 18-year-old, who was handed a debut under former manager Paul Ince in December 2006, made 19 starts for the club last season. Town boss Keith Alexander was happy with Reid's progress last term and is pleased the youngster has committed his future to The Silkmen.

Pleased

"Izak did very well for me last season and I am pleased he has agreed to come back to the Moss Rose next season," he told the club's official website. "He is another one of the youngsters we have at the club that I think can develop and I am sure he will play a big part for us this season. "He's versatile in terms of where he can play and his attitude to the game is spot on so I look forward to welcoming him back and seeing him improve over the course of the season."
