Chester have snapped up midfielders Jay Harris and David Mannix on two-year deals.
Both players were released by Accrington at the end of last season after struggling to establish themselves at the Fraser Eagle Stadium.
Chester, who were only cleared to bring in new players on Wednesday after being threatened by a transfer embargo, have now moved quickly for the pair.
Both players are now looking forward to linking up with Simon Davies' squad as Chester look to win promotion from League Two.
"I am looking forward to the new challenge. I can tackle and play a bit as well and I can't wait to get going," Harris told the club's official website.
Mannix added: "I had a long meeting with the manager and everything he said was very positive.
"They are looking to get in the play-offs this season, so I am really looking forward to it."
