Winger set to sign one-year deal

Bristol City winger Scott Murray has revealed he wants to stay at Ashton Gate for the rest of his career. The 34-year-old's future at the club was in doubt towards the end of last season when he found himself out of the first-team squad and soon to be out of contract. Gary Johnson offered Murray a new deal after Swindon and two unnamed clubs expressed an interest in signing him. Murray has now confirmed that he intends to put pen-to-paper on the agreement which would keep him at City until next summer.

Staying

"I have talked to the manager, agreed terms and will definitely be staying with Bristol City," Murray told the Evening Post. "All that is left to do is actually come into the office and put pen to paper. "I want to stay, the gaffer wants me to stay and everybody is happy with the situation. In fact, I want to spend the rest of my playing days here. "I love playing my football here and leaving would have been a massive wrench after so many years with the club."
