Midfielder joins on two-year deal after rejecting Wycombe offer

Midfielder Stefan Oakes has agreed to join Lincoln on a two-year deal after turning down the offer of a new contract at Wycombe. Wycombe were keen for the 29-year-old to extend his stay at the club but he has opted to head off for a fresh challenge. Oakes will link up with his new team-mates at the start of next month after becoming Peter Jackson's first signing of the summer. He had previous spells at Leicester, Crew, Walsall and Notts County before joining Wycombe in 2005. Oakes made 95 appearances for Wycombe and featured in both legs of their League Two play-off semi-final defeat to Stockport in May.
