Swindon Town manager Maurice Malpas admits Scott Murray is among the Bristol City players he is chasing.
Malpas is looking to build a squad capable of challenging for promotion next season and has been linked with several members of the City squad.
He has confirmed an interest in veteran winger Murray, who has been offered a new deal at Ashton Gate, but is not divulging his other targets.
"I have spoken to Bristol City about one or two of their players and Scott Murray is one of them," Malpas told the Swindon Advertiser.
"He has been offered another year at Bristol though as far as I am aware so that might end that."
The Swindon manager also revealed that he is close to signing a full-back from a Championship club to boost his defensive options.
He added: "Everything is pretty much sorted between us and the full-back in question.
"We just need to go back to his club and check it is all okay now."
