Alexander happy to be working with striker again

Macclesfield Town manager Keith Alexander admits he has made an exception to sign veteran striker Simon Yeo. The 34-year-old has agreed a one-year contract with Macclesfield after being released by Chester City at the end of the season. Yeo also spent time on loan at Bury this term and has now opted for a reunion with Alexander at Moss Rose. Alexander has worked with the forward at Lincoln City and Peterborough United, and is confident he has made an astute signing. "Simon did a great job for me at Lincoln," Alexander told the club's official website. "He has shown he is a proven goalscorer, but for whatever reason his last three moves haven't really worked out for him. "As a rule I don't like to sign players over 30, but in Simon's case I was happy to make an exception as I know what he can do and equally I know how hungry he is to make up for the last few years."
