Defender set to leave

Defender Johnny Mullins has rejected a new deal at Mansfield and is on the lookout for a move away from Field Mill. Mullins, who won this year's player of the season award, is determined to ply his trade at a higher level, although the League Two club are expected to discuss a revised contract offer with the player's agent. "There's one reason why I have turned down the contract - I want to play as high as I can. I want to look back when my career has ended and know that I played at the highest possible level," Mullins told the club's official website. "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here but I want to play in a higher division and I feel that now is the time to move on."

Sleath exit

Meanwhile, the club have also announced that Danny Sleath has been released after making just eight starts and 11 substitute appearances since signing as a professional.
