Huddersfield's highly-rated keeper Matt Glennon has turned down a new contract at the club.

Keeper not happy with offer

Huddersfield's highly-rated goalkeeper Matt Glennon has turned down a new contract at the club. The Terriers made an offer to their No.1, who is being chased by clubs from the Premier League and Championship. Glennon, 29, was keen to extend his stay at The Galpharm Stadium, where he has been for two years since joining from St Johnstone. However, his agent Richard Cody has now confirmed reports that Glennon has reluctantly rejected their offer.

No deal

"The offer was way below what we expected and was simply not good enough for a player's of Matty's ability," Cody told skysports.com. "Many regard Glennon as the best keeper outside the Championship and he has proven that week in, week out over the last two years. "It is a real shame as Matt loves the club, the fans - but there is no way he can sign what has been offered to him. "There is interest in him and clubs have been watching him closely, especially after his displays in the FA Cup." Glennon played a huge part in Huddersfield's impressive cup run which saw them defeat Birmingham - and indeed Alex McLeish is one of those looking at the player following his excellent display against them. The likes of Coventry, Southampton, Queens Park Rangers and Charlton are also believed to be considering bids and are likely to be alerted to the fact that Glennon has rejected Huddersfield's offer.
