Notts County goalkeeper Kevin Pilkington could be out of action for six weeks after suffering a leg break in training on Friday.
The club has confirmed that 33-year-old Pilkington suffered a fractured fibula after he underwent an X-ray at hospital.
Following the injury, the Magpies moved quickly to sign Stoke City goalkeeper Russell Hoult on loan until the end of the season.
He will play against visitors Bradford on Saturday afternoon as County's second-choice goalkeeper Tim Sandercombe is also sidelined with a stress fracture to an index finger.
Hoult was allowed to move after Stoke captured Sunderland keeper Marton Fulop on loan for the remainder of the season.
