New Southampton boss Nigel Pearson has signed veteran Fulham defender Ian Pearce on a month's loan.
The 33-year-old centre back is Pearson's first signing since getting the job on Monday and the player will go straight into the squad for the trip to Scunthorpe on Saturday.
"I'm delighted to have brought Ian Pearce in on loan," he told the club's official website.
"He's an experienced head. Calm, confident and a quality player."
Southampton are currently 18th in the Championship, six points clear of the relegation zone.
