Stockport manager Jim Gannon has revealed that news of Premier League clubs' interest in teenager Tommy Rowe comes as no surprise to him.
The 19-year-old midfielder has created plenty of headlines recently by scoring four goals in his last three games - including a hat-trick at Rotherham.
North London clubs Arsenal and Tottenham are rumoured to be tracking the youngster's progress, but Gannon admits that sort of news is to be expected.
He told the Stockport Express: "I was surprised to read about the interest in Tommy in a national newspaper. That wasn't the work of an agent.
"However when you've got such a young and successful team like ours at the moment then the players are bound to attract a lot of attention.
"We do have a lot of high quality players at Stockport, and when teenagers start scoring hat-tricks then it's only natural that there will be speculation.
"We're unlikely to receive phone calls at this stage, but it wouldn't surprise me if there was more interest at the end of the season."
