Kevin Ellison's proposed move from Chester to Stockport has been delayed due to objections from the player.
The two sides had agreed a deal which would have seen the winger move to Edgeley Park on loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent agreement being reached in the summer.
However, Ellison now appears unwilling to return to a club he enjoyed a successful three-year spell at between 2001 and 2004, and any chance of a potential transfer has seemingly come to an end.
Doubts over deal
A statement released by Chester read: "The deal that would have seen winger Kevin Ellison move to Stockport County on loan for the remainder of the season is now in question due to objections raised by the player.
"Ellison had been due to move from West to East Cheshire once the transfer window re-opened on Friday."
