Striker set for Fulham talks

Fulham have finally agreed a fee with Watford for Marlon King, in a deal that will see Collins John head in the opposite direction in a loan switch. It is a case of third time lucky for Fulham after having two previous bids rejected by the Championship hopefuls. "The club can confirm that it has made an improved offer to Watford FC for the transfer of Marlon King, which has been accepted," read an official club statement. "The player will now undergo a medical at the club's training ground. Further details regarding his potential move will be communicated at the appropriate time." Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has made King one of his top targets at Craven Cottage, as he looks to guide them clear of trouble at the wrong end of the table. Watford have been reluctant to sell King, but they have accepted Fulham's final offer in the region of £5million for the former Gillingham forward. King is now set to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical at Craven Cottage, as Hodgson looks to make him his first signing since taking charge of the West London outfit. If all goes to plan King could be make his debut in this weekend's clash with Arsenal. John heads to Vicarage Road initially on loan with a view to making the transfer permanent at the end of the season, for a pre-arranged fee.
