Striker ends his time at Underhill

Liam Hatch is set to complete a £150,000 move to Peterborough from Barnet in the January transfer window. A deal was struck between the two sides on Boxing Day, and manager Darren Ferguson hopes to have the paperwork for the player completed in time for Hatch to play a part in the club's New Year games. Barnet signed the striker from Ebbsfleet United, but he had recently turned down the offer of a contract extension and has made only nine starts in League Two so far this season. The Bees had already rejected a bid from Shrewsbury Town earlier in December, but will be disappointed to see a player leave who has scored eight times for them in this campaign.

Money

Club chairman Tony Kleanthous said: "I am really sorry to see Liam go. He epitomises the spirit of our club. "I completely understand why he wants to move on, to make more money, we manage to attract players to Underhill as we are honourable when they get the chance to better themselves. "It would have been dishonourable to hold him back when he, as well as the club, will do well out of the move. "Liam is a popular figure at Underhill and has always given 100 per cent in the Barnet cause. I am sure all at Barnet will wish him well in the next phase of his career."
