Nicholson leaves Shrewsbury

Stuart Nicholson has left his loan spell at Shrewsbury Town in order to return to West Bromwich Albion.

Striker's stay ended due to 'personal problem'

Stuart Nicholson has left his loan spell at Shrewsbury Town in order to return to West Bromwich Albion. The striker has scored just once in 14 League Two appearances since joining Shrewsbury on a season-long deal in August. However, he has been troubled by a 'personal problem' and will spend time in his native Newcastle before linking up with West Brom again. The loan arrangement can be broken in January, with Shrewsbury boss Gary Peters confirming Nicholson has left the club. Peters told the club's official website: "Stuart is due to go back to West Bromwich Albion in January, but he's got a personal problem that he needs to deal with. "It's something that's been an ongoing situation since a couple of weeks into his loan period with us and is probably one of the reasons why he hasn't played as well as we know he can do. "We've allowed him to go back home to Newcastle for the period when he returns to West Brom. Hopefully he can then get himself sorted and that will allow him to perform after January."
