Notts County say there is 'no pressure' on Mike Edwards to hurry back from a broken leg.

Edwards suffered the injury in a pre-season friendly and is expected to miss the bulk of the League Two campaign.

He has taken the next step in his recovery after returning to light training, but Magpies boss Ian McParland does not want the defender to rush his comeback.

McParland told the club's official website: "Mike has been making good progress.

"He has been working really hard and we are pleased to hear how he is coming along.

"Obviously there is still a fair way to go in terms of his rehabilitation, but the news that he has started light running is great. There is no pressure on him to hurry back."
