Macclesfield have kept hold of goalkeeper Jon Brain for a further month as manager Ian Brightwell looks to retain cover in the position.
Brain signed with the Silkmen in August on an initial one-month deal as back-up to No.1 Tommy Lee.
Brightwell is keen to keep Brain as cover for Lee as the Macclesfield boss believes the competition over the place improves the players.
"With Jon in the squad we'll have excellent cover but I know he'll be pushing Tommy all the way," he said.
"And it's no surprise that since Jon arrived Tommy has upped his game.
"Clubs need two good goalkeepers on their books and in Tommy and Jon we are very fortunate."
