Gary Peters says Shrewsbury Town defender Neil Ashton is 'nowhere near match fit'.
Ashton missed the start of the season after fracturing his elbow, but has figured in the club's last two games.
He played 90 minutes in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie with Yeovil Town last week before coming on as a half-time substitute against Stockport County in League Two at the weekend.
But Shrewsbury boss Peters feels Ashton is still a couple of games away from being back to his best.
Peters said: "Neil Ashton is nowhere near match fit.
"He has been training with us since breaking his elbow and doing everything we've been doing, but no-one has been kicking him too much.
"Although he has been doing the work, he is going to need another couple of games before we would consider him match fit."
