Trevor Benjamin is expected to join Hereford United this week after leaving Peterborough United.
The striker, who was placed on the transfer list at the end of last season, has had his contract with Posh cancelled by mutual consent.
Benjamin had become dispensable at London Road and had spells on loan at Boston and Walsall last season.
The 28-year-old has now been freed by Peterborough and should link up with League Two rivals Hereford within the coming days.
"Trevor has been with us for two seasons and we wish him the best of luck and thank him for his service," Peterborough director of football Barry Fry told the club's official website.
"I think he will be signing for Hereford United in the next few days."
