Newport assistant manager Jimmy Dack was relieved after Newport moved towards League Two safety with a 2-0 win over Wycombe.

Christian Jolley and Chris Zebroski struck in the space of six minutes in the second-half at Rodney Parade to move the Exiles seven points above the drop. The victory was Newport's first win at home in 10 attempts and Dack hopes that will ease the pressure on the players ahead of their final four games. Dack said: "Before the start of the season 99 per cent of our fans would've been happy with staying up and we raised those expectations. "So we needed to win today. The pressure is always on us at home but we needed this result because a win at home has been a long time coming. "We didn't make any mistakes, looked accomplished and it could've been more than 2-0 but we were nervous at the start "The boys haven't hidden, they've kept plugging away and we will try and kick-on with as many points as we can."
