Fleetwood have signed experienced French defender Youl Mawene ahead of the upcoming League Two season.
Mawene joins the Football League newcomers on a free transfer following an injury-plagued campaign with Scottish Premier League club Aberdeen last season.
The 32-year-old, who was at Derby between 2000 and 2004 before spending six years at Preston, had a trial with Town's League Two rivals Burton this month.
The Frenchman will go straight into the squad for the pre-season friendly against Oldham on Friday night.
