Dean Holdsworth has spoken of his delight at retaining the services of Aldershot skipper Ben Herd amid interest from League One sides.
Herd was made a new offer by the Shots with his current deal set to expire this summer and has opted to stay with the club.
Holdsworth told the club's official website: "Ben's been a solid captain, he handles himself well.
"I want him to lead the team and I want him to grow even more. We want the take the club to another level."
