Former Crawley manager Steve Evans has backed the appointment of Steve Coppell as the club's new director of football.
Evans, who left the Red Devils to take up the top job at Rotherham on Monday, insisted Coppell will add extra weight to the footballing staff at the Broadfield Stadium.
And he is convinced the ex-Reading and Crystal Palace boss will do an excellent job with the League Two outfit.
"I know Steve has been friends with the owners and directors for a long time," he told Sky Sports News.
"He's been at many of their matches and he's always been very, very complimentary about their performances and their progress as a football club.
"I was privy to the knowledge that Steve would be coming on board and I'm absolutely delighted for the club, delighted for the fans and I think it's a really good, true appointment."
