Saunders calls Bees to work

Sam Saunders admits Brentford's stars are playing for their futures after three defeats on the bounce dented their play-off hopes.

Losses to Sheffield United, Leyton Orient and Bournemouth have left the Bees 10 points behind Carlisle in sixth spot with just 10 games to go. However, Saunders says Brentford are determined not to let their season fizzle out, and insists there is plenty still to play for. The midfielder, 28, told the Hounslow Chronicle: "All of the players here have something to prove. "Some of the boys are out of contract in the summer and will be trying to earn new deals or wanting to get a move elsewhere. "The lads already here need to show the manager they're good enough to be in his plans for next season and the loan players will want to impress their clubs."
