Spurs goalkeeper to provide cover following Preece injury

Barnsley have signed Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper David Button on a month's loan after losing David Preece for the rest of the season. The Tykes confirmed last week that Preece had been sidelined by a wrist injury and Button has been drafted in to provide cover for Luke Steele. Button has made just one substitute's appearance during his Tottenham career and has represented several clubs on loan. He has previously featured for the likes of Crewe Alexandra, Plymouth Argyle and Shrewsbury Town and has already been out on loan twice this term. Following a brief spell at Leyton Orient, he recently completed two months on loan at Barnsley's South Yorkshire rivals Doncaster Rovers. The 23-year-old made eight appearances during his time at the Keepmoat Stadium and made his debut for Rovers in the 2-0 win over Barnsley at the start of January. Button is likely to go straight into Keith Hill's squad for the game at Crystal Palace on Tuesday when Barnsley aim to end a run of six games without a win.
