Martin hails Moore commitment

Crewe defender Carl Martin says the club has been buoyed by winger Byron Moore's decision to stay at Gresty Road.

The 22-year-old Moore signed a new 12-month contract at Gresty Road, just days after last season's top scorer Clayton Donaldson turned down a new deal in favour of moving to Brentford on a free transfer. "Being able to keep Byron is a massive boost to us because I feel he is one of our best players," Martin, 24, told the club's official website. "He has pace, skill and can score goals and I thought he would go on and play higher. "I still think he will but he has decided to stay here for the time being and that can only be good for us. "Byron is the sort of player who can make the difference in games and that is really important to us."
