Brentford have transfer-listed John Mousinho while also confirming Ricky Shakes will not be offered a new contract.
Bees boss Andy Scott has conceded with first-team prospects limited for Mousinho it is best for him to leave in order to further his career.
Mousinho, who has had loans spells at Woking and Yeading, joined Brentford in 2005 and has two goals in 45 league appearances for the club.
"John has been here for a few years and needs to play regularly to be able to improve and further his career in football," Scott told the club's official website.
"I have made him available for transfer with immediate effect - this could be permanent, although a loan could also be considered - whatever is for the benefit of the club."
Meanwhile, former Bolton man Shakes, who joined the club on a one-year contract last summer has been released with immediate effect.
