Brentford have been boosted by the news that midfielder Jay Tabb has not damaged knee ligaments.

Tabb was forced off at half time in Saturday's game with Colchester with the club fearing the 22-year-old would miss the remainder of the campaign, but manager Martin Allen is hopeful the winger will be able to start against Bradford this weekend.

"Jay's injury is just above the knee and, thankfully, it's not ligament damage," revealed Allen on the club's official website.

"He's 50-50 for the home game with Bradford."

However, Allen is still unsure when defender Kevin O'Connor will be available for selection.

O'Connor has not played since The Bees' FA Cup tie against Charlton in February because of a foot problem.

"Kevin is still only able to jog," the manager added.

"The bone injury in his foot is not a fracture, but it is taking time and we don't know how much longer he will be out."
