Sky Bet Championship: Chris Powell gives James Vaughan, Joe Lolley and Adam Hammill time

Huddersfield's injured trio James Vaughan, Joe Lolley and Adam Hammill will not be rushed back into first-team action by boss Chris Powell.

Last season's leading goalscorer Vaughan has made only four appearances this season and has played no part since September due to a calf injury.

Fellow striker Lolley, signed from Kidderminster for an undisclosed fee in January, has struggled with a hip problem and been restricted to three appearances this season, while a succession of unrelated knocks have meant Hammill has featured only six times.

"(Lolley and Hammill) both played recently against Cardiff under-21s and got minutes under their belts again, which was really good for them, so they're on their way back," Powell said.

"But I don't like to rush players, especially with injuries, looking at how it's been for lads like that.

"They need to build up their fitness and physicality and make sure they're ready for the Championship.

"It's a lot different training, they've got to be right, so those two lads are on the way back.

"James Vaughan is now upping his work, which is really good for him, but again I won't rush him.

"Everybody knows the history, so we've got to make sure we don't repeat those mistakes again."
