Morgan living the dream

Craig Morgan will realise a boyhood dream when he captains Rotherham in the League One play-off final against Leyton Orient on Sunday.

The centre-half, who has won 23 caps for Wales, will skipper the Millers as they aim to achieve back-to-back promotions and seal a first return to the Championship in 10 years. It has been a magnificent season for Steve Evans' men, who earned enough points to have gone up in seven of the last nine years in League One, and the prospect of going up at the home of football is a tantalising prospect. "I'm proud and excited to skipper a side at Wembley," the 28-year-old said. "It's going to be a great day. It's something that every player at the start of their career would only imagine as a dream. It's something I am immensely looking forward to. "I've had some good times in my career and leading the team out at Wembley is going to be right up there." With the Millers winning automatic promotion from League Two last season, Morgan believes that could stand them in good stead if they need to dig deep. "It is definitely going to hold a small advantage for us having gone through it last year," he added. "We have got a good mix of youth and experience in the squad. "There are five or six players on the pitch who can say things on the pitch who have been there and done it. "There are a lot of people who we can look to if needed." Morgan has skippered the Millers masterfully this season, but his toughest test could come in the final one against a free-scoring Orient side. And he knows his work will be cut out coming up against a potent Orient front-line. "Their two strikers have got nearly 40 goals between them so that goes without saying that they will be dangerous," he added. "Dean Cox is dangerous and so is the other winger (Moses Odubajo). All of their front four are a danger and they've got goals in them. "They are good strikers. We've got to go out and get amongst them."
