Clarke-Harris happy with Latics

Jonson Clarke-Harris thinks his recent goal glut at Oldham is an indication of just how content he is with life at Boundary Park.

The teenage striker, formerly of Coventry and Peterborough, scored four times in December, finding the net in three successive games around the festive period to take his tally to six for the season. And when asked to explain the reasoning behind the recent upturn in form, Clarke-Harris believes he is flourishing in a perfect environment. "It's hard work, determination and being happy," he said. "The way that I see it with me being happy, I play well and, at the moment, I'm really happy so that's my reason for playing well. "I'm enjoying it at this club, there are some good people around and a good manager; that's the reason I'm probably doing as well as I am at the moment." Latics boss Lee Johnson has been keen to utilise Clarke-Harris' raw attributes in the right manner and the work has paid dividends. Earlier in the season Johnson explained how he had used Subbuteo figures to explain some of the game's certain nuances to the 19-year-old and the student has clearly been impressed by his manager's methods. "He gives me massive confidence," Clarke-Harris added. "He's good in training, he's good in the changing room at half-time and full-time. His training sessions are bang on and he's a very good coach as well."
