Raynor hits out at play-acting

Rotherham assistant boss Paul Raynor questioned Alex Revell's red card in the Millers' 0-0 draw at Barnet on Saturday.

Revell received his marching orders for a reckless tackle on Barnet defender David Stephens with 10 minutes left - effectively ending Rotherham's bid to pick up their first away league win this season. Raynor, who has taken over match-day duties while boss Steve Evans serves a six-game stadium ban, believes referee Dean Whitestone was fooled by Stephens' over-reaction to Revell's challenge. "All I see is Alex trying to block a clearance and the guy [Stephens] goes down. I thought there was going to need to be two stretchers to take him off," said Raynor. "Obviously not and he jumped back up within seconds of Alex going off, but that's not too much of a surprise to me. "It certainly wasn't two-footed, the guy has obviously seen Alex coming and instead of riding the tackle he's done a triple salco and three forward roles and stayed down. But that doesn't surprise me either, that's what we're up against at the moment and there seems to be a lot of things conspiring against us. "You'd have to look at the DVD; do you think the FA are going to overturn a red card for Rotherham United? I'll let you be the judge of that. You don't really get these things overturned very often and we were on the end of the dubious decision so to speak."
