Evans plays down Noble rift

Rotherham manager Steve Evans has moved to quash rumours he has had a spat with midfielder David Noble.

The 30-year-old was left out of the squad for Saturday's 1-0 win over Torquay and speculation of a bust-up was rife at New York Stadium. But Evans, who admitted Noble took criticism of his performance in last week's 6-2 defeat at Port Vale badly, confirmed there is no issue and Noble has problems in his personal life. "We have had a meeting. David is going to have a couple of days at home, he has family issues that have been on his mind and his performances have shown that," Evans said. "He came in and apologised and he has been given until Thursday to sort himself out and we are looking forward to getting him back, we love him as a kid and as a player. "David said some things that are wrong and that he has apologised for. He has gone away hugging me, so that is a good sign."
