Jordan Bowery is vowing to repay the faith shown in him by Paul Lambert after joining Aston Villa from Chesterfield.
The 21-year-old has moved to Villa Park in a deal reportedly worth £500,000 and is hoping to make an impact in the Premier League after over 100 games in the Football League.
And with Lambert insisting the striker is ready for the top flight, he may not have to wait long for his chance to transfer his goalscoring prowess to a bigger audience.
Bowery established himself in the Chesterfield first team last season, where he averaged a goal every four games over 48 appearances and Lambert believes he has great potential.

Bowery has made it clear that he wants to work hard to achieve that potential, telling Villa's
official website: "All young players want to learn from more experienced players.
"Now I want to learn off the guys who have played so many games in the Premier League. Gabby, Darren Bent, even guys like Nathan Delfouneso and Andreas Weimann I can learn a lot from.
"I'm quick, I'm fit and I work hard, those are all advantages to my game. Now I have to work harder than ever before to make an impression here and to repay the manager."
The son of former Nottingham Forest striker Bert Bowery admitted he was excited by the plans set out by Lambert when he met his new manager to discuss the move.
"He talked about wanting to bring in young, raw, hungry talent, players who want to improve here and want to get to this level and stay at this level. I think that's what he's looked at in me," Bowery added.
"I have no goals really at the minute, I'm just going to take it day by day. I am going to show the manager what I can do and I'm going to work hard to show everyone what I can do."
The Nottingham-born striker, who has put pen to paper on a three-year deal, is the sixth new arrival at Villa following the signings of defenders Ron Vlaar, Joe Bennett and Matt Lowton, and midfield players Brett Holman and Karim El Ahmadi.
