Rotherham new signing Michael O'Connor insists that a good start to the season is crucial as they seek automatic promotion.
The Millers are hot favourites for the League Two title after bringing in no less than eight new players as they move to their New York Stadium home.
Burton are the visitors on the opening day of the season and the summer signing from Scunthorpe told Sky Sports that they are ready to cope with the pressure that comes with the club's ambitious plans.
"There is a bit of pressure that comes with being one of the favourites to go up this year, but we are favourites because of the new facilities and the players that the club have brought in so far.
"I'm sure that we can handle that pressure and make it a season to remember for Rotherham.
"We start and end the season with a home game, which is great, and Burton first up will be a tough one because they'll enjoy the new facilities and surroundings just as much as us.
"If we can get a good pre-season under our belt then we can hopefully start the season well and take it from there."
The Northern Ireland international has dropped a division to join the South Yorkshire outfit, but has set his sights on steering his new club into the Championship during his stay.
"I just can't wait to start having spoken to Steve Evans for a few hours before I joined about what direction the club is heading in and the players that he wanted to bring in and it was something I really wanted to be a part of.
"That was the main factor for me joining Rotherham because every player wants to join a club that is going places and this just feels right in that respect.
"The new stadium wouldn't look out of place in the Championship and that is the plan over the next three or four years and once you get to that stage you never know what can happen.
"I'm really looking forward to starting at a new club where there is tons of ambition and a real desire to achieve."
