Dons boss disappointed to be losing midfielder

Aberdeen boss Craig Brown is planning for life without Kari Arnason beyond the summer after he rejected fresh terms. The 29-year-old former Plymouth Argyle midfielder has been a mainstay after signing a one-year deal at the start of the campaign. However, Arnason, much to Brown's disappointment, has turned down the opportunity to extend his Pittodrie experience. Brown knows Arnason will not be a Dons player next season and he is now scouring the market for possible replacements.

Planning

"I know Kari has rejected our offer and furthermore I know in my head he won't be here next season," explained Brown. "If he doesn't accept the present deal then clearly he won't be here next season. I spoke to him and while he is happy here, he wants a bigger salary. "But I'm sure the club will not change its present offer as this is the maximum we can afford. "It's disappointing he's decided to leave but I have to accept it and concentrate now on finding a possible replacement."
