Skipper Danny Harrison has challenged Rotherham to prove their talent, saying the players are good but need team effort.
The Millers, who were among the pre-season favourites to be in the League Two promotion shake-up, have had a topsy-turvy season with two long unbeaten runs sandwiching an even lengthier winless streak.
Harrison believes the current squad is as good as he has played with, but wants them to show it.
"We are fortunate in the fact the league is so tight and we are still in with a very good chance of getting automatic promotion," he said.
"There are areas we need to tighten up on. Fortunately time is on our side but the penny is going to have to drop soon for us to start getting the best out of each other.
"Some of the individuals we have got here are as good as I have played with in a Rotherham shirt. At the moment, it is the team effort we need to get right. We need to start having a good look at ourselves to get back where we need to be."
