Rotherham boss Andy Scott will be pleased after news that captain Ryan Cresswell will not require surgery to repair his injured ankle.
The centre-half has been out of action since the middle of September with ligament damage but after seeing a consultant earlier in the week, he has received positive news.
However, Cresswell still faces another four weeks on the sidelines as he rebuilds strength in the joint.
"There were some fibres and ligaments torn from the bone but the rest of the structure is pretty good," manager Andy Scott said.
"It's still not a long-term solution, though, at best it's going to be another four weeks until he is fit and available again.
"He is going to see the consultant again in three weeks and if it is strong enough, we can get him back involved."
