Rotherham manager Andy Scott has confirmed goalkeeper Jamie Annerson is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The 22-year-old, who ended last season as first choice and penned a new deal in the summer, has been hospitalised after picking up an infection in his knee.
"He has a swollen knee and he is out for a considerable time," Scott said.
"He has been admitted to hopsital and it is very unfortunate. The infection has attacked his knee and he has had to have a clear out so he will be out for a bit."
