Scott resigned to losing duo

Rotherham boss Andy Scott has all-but admitted defeat in his battle to keep Ryan Taylor and Nicky Law.

Both players look set to join rival clubs after Taylor turned down a new deal, with the Millers having accepted an offer for Law. Scott told Millers Player: "Ryan has turned down the contract we have offered him which wasn't a surprise. We have had a couple of offers from Championship clubs for him so we are anticipating that he will go to another club. I believe he is meeting a couple of clubs this week so I would imagine within the next week or two there will be some movement there. "With Nicky, we accepted a fee for him from another League Two club. We gave a timeline for that to happen but he hasn't signed for them, whether that is dead I don't know. We have had an offer from a League One club but that didn't meet the valuation. We are still anticipating Nicky will be leaving as well but it is a case of whether we can agree a deal with the club or have to go to tribunal." Yet Scott expects Jason Taylor to sign a new one-year deal, adding: "A couple of things needed changing on the contract because his agent has changed a couple of times. Once the wording has changed we are hoping he will sign on Thursday morning."
