Whites stopper targets New Year return

Leeds United defender Richard Naylor is hoping to be available for selection in the New Year following knee surgery. The former Ipswich Town stopper has been on the sidelines since mid-October after having a minor operation on his knee. Naylor has been pleased with his recent progress and is hoping to step up his recovery next week by doing outdoor running. During the 33-year-old's absence Leeds have brought in Bolton's Andy O'Brien on loan and gone on an eight-game unbeaten Championship run.

Targets

"I'm doing very well. It's a slow road back but I've got targets I've got to hit each week," he told the club's official website. "This week I'm in the pool and next week hopefully I'll be running outside, then hopefully back just after Christmas or early in the New Year. "I've had a few operations over the years but you have to deal with it. It's just a case of coming back and making sure you're really good with your rehab."
